Ronny G:
Ronnyg is from London, Middlesex, United Kingdom. Ronny had been an entrepreneur from an early age and was always thinking about how to best make his mark online. One day he came up with an idea: a site where people could haggle with hotels for better prices, and where hotels could offload excess inventory.
He knew it could be a winner, but wasn't sure how to develop it. A traditional firm in his local area quoted him an astronomical €10,000. Fortunately, he was clued into vWorker on the recommendation of some online friends, and gave vWorker a try. In a short time, his vWorkers had created HotelHaggle.com at a fraction of the cost.
He continued to hire virtual writers, programmers and virtual assistants through the site. And HotelHaggle's growth has exploded to 3 million page views a month and over 20,000 registered users.
Ronny shared the following with us about his experiences on vWorker.
1a. Why did you start your business?
I was 11 years old when I got my first computer; I knew the minute I got my hands on it that I was going to run my own business online. I spent so much time online learning about the internet and how it worked that I did not even finish school. No one ever thought I would amount to anything, but I knew I was going to make it…and it was going to be online.
The first quote I received for the website I had in mind was €10,000 from a company based in Ireland. I spend some time in forums online trying to get quotes for smaller websites I had in mind, and was eventually pointed in the direction of vWorker. After spending some years on vWorker getting some small jobs done, which I was pretty impressed by, the recession had hit and hotels were closing down (I already owned a small regional hotel website). I thought what if I combined the vWorker experience with hotels to let people haggle with hotels for better prices? "It would be good for the hotels and good for the customers."
The ability for hotels to bid on their customers’ requirements.
I found vWorker when it was known as RentACoder and was referred to me by a person on a popular webmaster forum. vWorker helped me overcome every single obstacle from design, coding, writing, marketing, and still continues to help to this day with virtual assistants and more.
