vWorker has recently conducted case studies of successful employers and workers on the site. During the next few weeks, we’ll be releasing a new story each week; describing the story of how an employer was able to use vWorker to develop/enhance their business or how a worker is able to financially support themselves through the work earned on vWorker.
To start things off, we’ve published a testimonial provided by employer ProSoftwarePack, owner of the emailer software website Tipssites.com. Here's what he had to say about his experience in using vWorker.
1a. Why did you start your business?
I started DatabaseEmailer.com because I saw that the cost charged by major opt-in email data suppliers was incredibly high and their query and download systems were archaic; therefore I saw great margins were possible if it was automated.
1b. What unique need/niche do you fulfill?
Due to automation we are able to sell higher quality opt-in email data to own with unlimited use at 90% less than our competitors rent for. On the email delivery side several vWorker coders were able to develop unique emailer software that allows our users to email through webhosting companies email accounts at $5 per million emails sent, with incredible deliverability into the inbox. The average industry cost for emailing is normally $1,000 per million and gets nowhere near our deliverability due to our ability to rotate non continuous IP addresses.
With the ability to hire coders all over the world and co-locate servers there was no need to have an office. We were last year’s winner of Information Management Magazine’s Innovative Solutions Award, and this all was done by running a home based multi-million dollar business, blowing away the competition all from my spare bedroom! 2. How did you find vWorker? What obstacles did you run into that vWorker helped you solve?
I was using a competitor to vWorker and was having an issue trying to find a coder for a project and one of the coders mentioned to me that if I could not find a coder try vWorker—and since, I have not used any service other than vWorker.
I built the business from a spare bedroom in my house so hiring non employees that were highly qualified and that I could test them first was a homerun.
3. How has your business grown?
The business grew in just a few years from losing money during development to a multi-million dollar, internationally awarded business that now dominates opt-in email data supply and delivery.
4. What advice do you have for others who are starting the same way you did?
Don’t jump at the lowest cost. Pay attention to the ratings of coders and comments made by buyers.
5. What is your favorite feature on vWorker?
So many but since you are asking me to only name one I would say the ability to escrow the funds and not release funds until the job is done per requirements.
6. What has been your experience in mediation/arbitration?
The system asks enough questions of the buyer that the specs are detailed enough so you really should not be in many mediation/arbitration scenarios but of the few I have had from hundreds of jobs it was very fair.
7. Do you have any tips/tricks/secrets about vWorker that you’ve learned that you’d like to share?
Due to the fact that vWorker has coders all over the world the buyer needs to realize that a great percentage of coders in the world are sleeping when they initially post a job. So it is important to wait a little while to give everyone a chance to review the post. Additionally many coders will ask questions and make points that allow you to modify your posting based upon sound advice from coders. The VWorker system has a quick and easy way to edit the post if necessary.
